When people hear “animation,” they often think of cartoons or art projects. In STEM Animation, we help students discover something more exciting: animation is a powerful STEM tool used by scientists, engineers, and researchers every day to explore how the world works.
In this program, students use animation to model real systems, test ideas, and solve problems. The drawing, building, and design elements are there to support learning - just like diagrams in a science book or models in a lab. Creativity plays an important role, but the heart of the program is STEM thinking.
Animation allows students to bring invisible or complex ideas to life. Through movement, timing, and structure, students can explore questions like:
By animating these systems, students learn to observe carefully, think logically, and adjust their designs - skills at the core of science and engineering.
Students use animation to model real‑world STEM concepts such as:
These projects encourage students to ask why and how, then test their ideas through animation.
STEM Animation helps students see that science and engineering aren’t just in textbooks - they can move, change, and come alive.
